Floor Heating Systems
Heating System Installs on South Coast
It’s reassuring to know we know our stuff. Whatever the build, specification and floor type, our expertise will marry each project to the appropriate floor heating system. The result? Optimum performance in every floor, every time.
See our range of typical floor systems below.
DUO Flow
Pre-fabricated plastic crates secure the DUO Pipe at the designed pipe centres and can be installed directly to the sub-floor and/or an acoustic layer. This system will be used with a low build flowing screed or latex and is traditionally used on refurb projects or intermediate floors where the u-value requirement is lower.
DUO Low
Traditionally used on refurb projects or intermediate timber floors, this system utilises pre-fabricated, routed 15mm MDF panels to secure the DUO Pipe at the designed pipe centres. The MDF board will be fitted with aluminium foil to provide an even distribution of heat.
DUO Staple
This system uses 40/60mm staple clips to secure the DUO Pipe to the insulation at the designed pipe centres. The flow pipe from the manifold to each zone will be insulated with conduit to ensure the design flow temperature is met. This is the most common solution for solid screed systems.
DUO Crate
Utilising pre-fabricated plastic crates to secure the DUO Pipe in place at the designed pipe centres, this system can be installed directly to the sub-floor and/or an acoustic layer. The system will be used with a solid screed construction where a minimal build-up is required.
DUO Grid
Our grid solution uses wire ties to secure the DUO Pipe to the A142/Equivalent mesh at the designed pipe centres. This system is traditionally used to secure the UFH within the concrete slab.
DUO Routed
This system uses pre-fabricated, routed XPS insulation panels to secure the DUO Pipe at the designed pipe centres. The insulation will be fitted with aluminium diffusion plate or foil to provide an even distribution of heat. This system will be used when a dry construction is required to speed up the project or when a lower build-up is required. The sub-floor is required to be at least SR2 with any make-up.
DUO Cradle
DUO Cradle employs acoustic cradles and battens with mineral wool, and aluminium diffusion plates secure the DUO Pipe at the designed pipe centres. This system will be used when a lightweight dry construction is required and is traditionally installed with high rise apartment blocks or sports halls.
DUO Chipboard
This system uses 22mm routed P5 Chipboard with aluminium strips to secure the DUO Pipe at the designed pipe centres. The chipboard is topped with a bonded 6mm plywood to create a BM Trada tested structural floor. This system can be used with any type of joist, new build or refurb, with installation from below and above.
DUO Plate
This system uses aluminium diffusion plates to secure the DUO Pipe at the designed pipe centres and is suitable for standard structural joists at 400mm centres. If the joists are uneven, it is recommended a counter batten system is fitted on top to provide standard centres.
